It took you years
To cover those stair that
Lead to the roof.
But finally
Today we were their,
Together.
The sky was a somber gray
Overcast
With the monsoon clouds.
It looked down upon us,
As if with lots of barren
Expectations.
You went to the edge of
The roof
And stood there,
With you face towards
The wind. The chilly
Wind
Ruffled your hair
And
You looked like Medusa,
While I stood there
Enchanted,
Beguiled, mesmerized, bewitched
By your charm.
You held yourself
With
Both the arms, as if to
Control yourself
Just so that
You
Don't fly away like your
Own emotions.
I slowly walked upto you,
And
Embraced you in my arms,
While Clayderman played
Cavatina
From a distance.
The moments lingered on
With
It's elated, magical effervescence
And the world seemed to have
Condensed
To a singularity.
And the roof, an island.
You turned around, your head
Was slightly tilted on one side and
I saw a speck of tear
Rolling down
Your cheek, it was accusing me
For keeping you
Unaware
Of these alluring
And beauteous journey called life.
I closed your eyes
With my hands like a witch.
And
Kissed you, gently, slowly
On your lips.
And time
Seemed to have stood still.
Enthralled, we stood there.
Motionless,
Savouring the taste of the
Dancing waters.
[ I won't be home this Christmas, but tomorrow is the birthday of R. So I am publishing this today. The Chronicles of R completed a whole year. Hopefully, it won't stop here. I would like to thank all of you for making The Chronicles of R your journey. Your comments are what made me move on. This is the birthday gift for R. And what can be a better gift to R than a poem, so here it is. Once again I should thank Sandip for showing me the dim imagery of this poem. Thanks Sandip. In the end I would like to wish R a very Happy Birthday. I love you R. ]

Well well well.. now that's what i call a wonderful person with an extremely amazing talent!.. the poem is pretty touching and takes you deeply into the intense words, into an imaginary world!! Its not just to read and forget.. very impressing RJ :)
Wish The Chronicles of R a wonderful first birthday, and of course, am sure we will be seeing many more intense stories, articles, and poems :)
Wish you a rocking merry Christmas too :)
something in verse form was nvr my strong point, but what touched me was the passion beneath the keyboard......even though it did not tattle much about R....MERRY X'MAS
What a lovely poem -- thank you for sharing it! Beautiful picture, too. Merry Christmas to you, and I wish you all the best in the New Year!

@April Erwin : Thank you for your wishes. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you too :)
Was great....although as a typical critique would say.....written with a heavy and dismangled heart.....Is it a fact? Otherwise the flair was composed....seemed to travel lightyears in seconds.
Congrtas again to you on a successful year ending bash of R.
Rye loved this one :)
@Mgrockin : Thank you.
@Rye : I am glad that Rye loved something from my humble abode. So would Rye mind if I want to gain the acquaintanceship of Rye?
