Is DocCash Worth The Hype?

Launched at TechCrunch40 by Jason Nazar and Alon Shwartz, DocStoc is a site like Scribd where you can upload your DocCashdocuments and share them easily. Very recently DocStoc has announced a revenue sharing program called DocCash, and with that the internet and social media sites have gone ga ga over it. So I thought I might check it out as well.

With DocCash, you can make money from the documents you upload on DocStock. But you must also have an Adsense account. When you sign up for DocCash, you need to associate your Adsense account with your DocStock account. Of course, if you don't have an Adsense account then DocStock would help you create one.

Now along with your uploaded documents, DocStock would display ads using your Adsense account. And whenever a viewer would click on those ads you would earn a percentage of that revenue. The DocCash revenue sharing program would let you share the earnings in a 50/50 basis. So, the more quality documents you upload and the more you promote those contents, the more earnings you’d hopefully get from AdSense. Signing up for DocStock is free, fast and takes only a few minutes.

But my point is that why won't you upload your files to Scribd and then host it on your own website/blog and earn 100% of that Adsense revenue instead? Doesn't that makes more sense? I do understand that they have the tools to help you promote your documents on Twitter and Facebook, but at the end of the day it's you who has to promote your documents.

DocCash would be lucrative for those who don't own a blog and neither would like to go through the burden of self-host their files. So if you are one of them, or for some other reason want to give DocCash a try, you can sign up from here.

Make Money Using JobThread

Make Money Online
Finding a new job after being handed a pink slip, in this tough time of recession, can be a pretty daunting task. That's why most of the prospected employees have resorted to social networks to find their future employers. And if you happen to be a blogger/publisher, then there is a great potential for you to start earning money in this field of job searching.

JobThread is an online service that helps provide your readers their dream job, while you earn some money and traffic. Launched in November 2003, JobThread, Inc. is a privately held company based in New York City. Featured on some of the leading publishers like Read Write Web, Slashdot, Wired, Silicon Alley Insider et al, JobThread offers JobThread widgets as well as a complete Job Board solution for established sites with high traffic and a large niche audience base. What's unique about JobThread is that it targets the passive candidates that don't click on the job boards by presenting relevant jobs on the sites.

Earnings are calculated based on a number of factors including the quantity and quality of traffic your Widget generates. The publisher chooses how much they would like to charge recruiters to post jobs on your site, the value of which ranges from anywhere between $5 to $1000 per posting, and JobThread shares the revenue on a 50-50 basis. There are no setup fees, hosting fees or maintenance fees of any kind. Earnings are paid out using PayPal when you exceed $20 USD in earnings.

The JobThread widget is fully customizable. You can choose a site category to target your niche readers. Moreover, you can provide your own keywords to further narrow down your niche audience. You can also use dynamic keywords by passing the keywords parameter in the widget URL in a comma separated list of keywords, and which can include negative keywords.

JobThread has a dedicated email customer service for publishers and employers which can be reached through their Contact Us link. Make Money Online With Shareasale

Before Diwali I had joined Shareasale as an experiment. It was my first venture into the world of affiliate marketing. I joined for the Snorg Tees' program, but have enrolled in atleast 10-12 programs since then. And till date I have made thousands from Shareasale.

Now first you should understand what's so special about Shareasale than any other affiliate network that I am suggesting shareasale.com, and not just any other affiliate program. ShareASale was founded in 2000 by Brian Littleton, and to date has over 2,600 merchant programs hosted on its network platform. ShareASale's affiliate network is an Adware free network - they do not accept any affiliate who used Adware or similar software products (desktop software) to place ads. The network's stance against Adware and other unethical business practices in the affiliate marketing industry was recognized by the industry. The founder Brian Littleton received in August, 2006 the "AFP Fair Practice Award" and in January 2007 the "Affiliate Summit Pinnacle Award" for "Affiliate Marketing Advocate" at the Affiliate Summit West 2007 industry tradeshow and expo.

Shareasale offers three kind of programs, Pay-Per-Lead, Pay-Per-Sale and Pay-Per-Click. Once you get your first payment, minimum of which can be as low as $50, you become qualified to join the Pay-Per-Click programs listed under Shareasale. They offer timely payments, easy joining of programs, an easy user interface for sharing link codes and lots of other nifty features which are absent in other affiliate sites.

And the best part is that you can run Shareasale ads along with Adsense. So in these tough times of recession, I would suggest you not to rely only on your Adsense/Adbrite PPC ads, instead join the Shareasale affiliate network and start making money.

New Adsense Feature

Adsense for Domains
Google has introduced a new feature in Adsense. It has come up with Adsense for Domains. Adsense for domains allows publishers with unused domains to help users reach relevant information by presenting content on the domains.

Many of us have often typed domains into our address bar or followed expired links leading to sites with no content. Adsense for Domains would let you cash in on that parked domain you had bought once but could not decide what to do with it. With Adsense for Domains, instead of an "under construction" page or 404 error, it would feature links, search results, advertisements and other content from Adsense. And the best part is that Adsense for Domains is using semantic technology targeted to the domain name. Bottomline, you earn revenue when users interact with the ads on your parked domain now filled with ads from Adsense for Domains.

You don't need a separate account for Adsense for Domains, if you have a valid Adsense account then you are already entitled for that. All you need to do is log on to your Adsense account, click on Adsense Setup, and under the Get Ads tab you would find a link to Adsense for Domains.

To get started with Adsense for Domains, you can check out their setup instruction page. You can also search through their Help Forums. So go ahead and try earning some more cash from Adsense.

Make Money Online With Adsense Alternative

The first and possibly the easiest way to make money online is through advertisements. But many of us have tried and failed while using Adsense. We became tired of the $0.01 figures, lost patience and finally gave up.

The key to success here is to find an alternative to Adsense, which would pay you more by not only PPC but also eCPM. The nearest match to Adsense is Adbrite. AdBrite can help you monetize your site with advertising that fits the content and user base of your site. Their base of advertisers includes top brands like Live Nation, GM, AT&T and Verizon - at the same time, AdBrite serves ads on nearly 1 billion pages daily, providing massive scale opportunities.

The AdBrite interface is very easy to use - you can sign up online and run ads on your site in minutes. Once you’re up and running, your publisher dashboard will give you all the latest detailed information about every single ad that’s run on your site.

And the best part is that in addition to text and banner ads, AdBrite offers advanced options like Full Page Ad, BritePic, and Inline ads. These formats will allow you to show high - value ads without losing site real estate - and the multimedia formats let you take advantage of the photos and video clips on your site. Bottom line, you’ll earn more than with the standard options provided by most ad networks which includes Adsense.

And here's the good news, Adbrite has recently added PPC ads on their network. And you can run Adbrite along with Adsense. So sign up for Adbrite, join in as a Publisher (or an Advertiser) and start earning today.

Make Money Online

Make Money Online
Make money online! How many times have you searched for these words on Google and have come up with millions of results? I searched for those words on Google right now and got 204,000,000 results!

Odds are that most of those listed sites would either ask you to subscribe to them, which would be a paid subscription or buy their book with their secret formula to make money online, but they would do anything except telling you how to make money online! The reason being there is NO secret formula. There are tricks which you can employ to earn from the internet, but these tricks are no secret, everyone knows them, everyone implements them. The individual success depends on their implementation.

How do I know all these? I have tried them all, and have learned the art of making money online the hard way. This is my bread and butter now.

From today, I would be starting a new series on The Chronicles of R about how to make money online. I would not be telling you about any secrets, cause I have none. But I would tell you how to implement those age-old techniques so that you too can make money like I am doing. Why am I doing this? To make money of course.

I would be publishing articles regularly (almost) on this topic. I would label them with the Make Money Online tag so that it would be easier for you to find them. Although you are always welcome to explore the site. Hope these articles would benefit you as much as it would benefit me.
