Have You Been APE-d Yet?

APE: How to Publish a Book

Are you planning to write a book but not sure how to go about publishing it? Let Guy Kawasaki help you with it! How? Here's how.

Guy Kawasaki and Shawn Welch have come up with a book called APE: Author, Publisher, Entrepreneur. With it they will show you the magic of self-publishing. How you can overcome the barriers that you would have had to face with traditional publishing. I had a chance to grab a review copy of APE and I was surprised at how easy it is to get yourself published!

First, although this book is written in a tone which sounds like business advice, let that not intimidate you because if you want your book to sell then consider APE to be your marketing bible.

Second, APE is absolutely to-the-point. From what Word processor to use and why to how to edit your book, from how to put a value tag on your book to how to create a social media awareness about your book, everything is covered in precise details with links to references for further reading.

What's best about APE is that its written from Guy's personal experience where in 2011, his publisher Penguin with their traditional publishing system failed to produce 500 copies of his book Enchantment when a tech company wanted to buy those 500 of the ebook version of my book Enchantment to use for a promotion. So, in a way, Guy has been there and done that and knows the pitfall you would have had to face while publishing your book.

For those of you who don't know Shawn, he is the author of From Idea to App, iOS 5 Core Frameworks, and iOS 6 for Developers, and is also the developer of several iOS apps. Previously he worked as a senior media editor for Pearson Education.

If you want to buy APE (ISBN 978-0-9885231-1-1), you can find it only on Amazon. And it comes with a price tag of $9.99. So don't forget to grab your copy quickly since it would be available only for 90 days. Amazon would start selling APE tonight (Sunday) at midnight Pacific time.

Also don't forget to check my new tech blog TechniColor, have been working on it for a while and its finally up and running. If you like it don't forget to share it with your friends on Facebook.
