Posterous, the simplest blogging platform, has introduced a new feature using which you can create and maintain a group blog right from your inbox, be it a publicly maintained group blog or a private blog.
Once you have created your blog on Posterous, simply claim your blog and edit it to add the email address of all the contributors of your group blog. There is no need for these contributors to have an account with Posterous, they would still be able to post, view and comment on the group blog via email. The group blog/email list can be password protected or public. Should you wish to share content and comments without posting publicly, that can be accomplished by emailing private@yourblog.posterous.com.
And whenever a contributor posts something on the blog, every blog member receives an email with the entire post, including all the images. They can then reply to that email to add a comment to the post. And as before, those comments get emailed to all contributors. This makes group blogging easy, especially for those who have restricted internet access but would still like to maintain a blog of their own.
With that being said, I wonder what's next on their to-do list. Themes, ad network, CSS tweaks, widgets, the wish list is endless. I hope Sachin and Garry are listening.
